Print them off, laminate them and TAH DAH – Dolls and their outfits. They will arrive as JPG’s which I will put into Publisher and mess around with. I did a hunt around and found these:-Īren’t they cute! I do have to purchase them. I thought paper dolls would be great to dress up. I’ll have something up for Week 1 in August soon, but I wanted to put this up before I forgot (yes, my brain has days, weeks even months like that! D ) The pictures below are here: My Body Is A Temple pictures. It reinforces what they learned in Sharing Time, but helps to get our Presentation songs done as well. They will describe to us what is happening and how it applies to our bodies, and then we will sing the presentation song that is next on my list (the primary children don’t need to know that though D ). I am going to have a child choose a picture from out of my bag (just a plain black material drawstring bag I have). I’m sure other Mums are telling their children the same thing, so if they’re hearing it in Primary as well (It’s part of the Word of Wisdom), it will reinforce it more. I chose these because some will be covered in the 3 weeks following, and some (being active, keeping your body clean and getting enough sleep) are things I personally am reminding my own children at home. “I will only listen to music that is pleasing to Heavenly Father”.“I will only read and watch things that are pleasing to Heavenly Father”.I will keep my body clean (hairbrush and tissues included).I will be active (and exercise but not necessarily sports – my kids aren’t sporty but they’re still active). I will eat good food (variety of different foods).Ready made pictures! I found some pictures that go great with the topic. I liked the idea of using the pictures included in the page from the Nursery manual (found here: I Will Take Care of My Body) but I’m not so good with Photoshop yet, and it was going to take me an awful long time to separate each picture on the computer and colour them (I have arthritis and RSI in my hands, so manually colouring in is now incredibly painful). If you need some fruit and veggie clip art in a hurry, and you have a colour printer ready and scissors, here’s “one I prepared earlier”: Fruit and Veggies clip art (but I got the pictures from all over the Net, so be sure not to re-post this anywhere else!)Īnyone else glad this was not on a Fast Sunday?įor the first week in August we get to introduce the month’s topic ‘My Body is a Temple of God’. You just go through the songs that need revision for the presentation – have your list ready and just do the next one on it. If they choose one with a worm behind it, that worm will tell them HOW they have to sing the song. The idea is that the children can come up and choose a veggie. (And for some reason, it wanted to do a LOT of white background, and a small picture right in the middle of all that white, of course!) I printed the Veggie Family Singers from the ‘Singing Time Fun 2008′ CD. They are the cutest little caterpillars I have ever seen (except for those very pretty, huge, mostly black with purply/orange/white dots that I have in my garden with the waggy tails – they’re the only caterpillers I like). I have printed out in colour and laminated an entire veggie garden, complete with caterpillars. I would like to stick to the topic at least though I am allowed to go nuts learning the presentation songs with the children any way I like. We have Stake Conference scheduled for the week 3 of August, so we are combining the topic with week 4’s.
